DEMBELE ON ARSENAL RADAR – REPORT

Premier League heavyweights Arsenal are reportedly keen on signing Lyon striker Moussa Dembele this summer. This is according to the report from the stables of media outlet Foot Mercato. It was revealed that the Gunners can sign the former Celtic player for £25m in the summer since he would have one year left on his current deal at French club Lyon.

Arsenal are in the market for at least one striker amidst the uncertainty over the futures of strikers Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette.

Young English player Nketiah and French international Lacazette both have few months left on their respective contracts in North London meaning that they would become free agents in the summer if they don’t sign a new contract.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has previously talked about Lacazette and how valuable he's to the current crop of young players at the club. The Frenchman has been the captain since Gabonese international Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was frozen out of the team. He has since signed for Barcelona in the Spanish La Liga during the winter transfer window and has made a very good start to life at the Nou Camp with seven goals to his name already. Gunners boss Arteta has been vocal about his desire for Lacazette to stay but nothing is certain at the moment as he has been heavily linked with a return to Lyon.
Two Lyon players have now been linked with Arsenal this week. In addition to former Celtic star Dembele, Houssem Aouar has also been linked with a move to North London. Apart from the Gunners, Manchester United are also said to be keen on signing former Celtic striker Dembele who has ten goals in 20 league games since he returned from his loan spell at Atletico Madrid last season. In total, he has 42 goals in 96 league games for Lyon.
