UNITED STAR ATTRACTS INTEREST FROM CELTIC AFTER MUTED MOVE

Manchester United youngster Brandon Williams is almost certain to leave the club this summer as he wants to get more game time under his belt. The young defender was out of the team last season and spent most of his time at the club on the substitute's bench but he has hinted that he would be highly interested in playing games as he wishes to continue his development. His long-term admirers have been Southampton and he has been linked with a transfer to the St Mary's even before last season ended, with the club's manager Ralph Hassenhütl indicating that he would love to take Brandon on loan.

Southampton were highly interested in the loan move but did not make any official offer until this summer. They approached the Old Trafford club and made their intention clear that they would fancy a loan move for the defender who can play across both ends of the full-back positions but there has been a slight problem in talks between the two clubs.

According to reports, Southampton are currently unwilling to agree to the demands Manchester United have made and could be backing out of the deal if there is no agreement established in the coming days. The reports say that United are asking for a little over £2 million as the loan fee but that's not all. If the deal goes ahead, with the terms that are currently being discussed, Williams could be the highest-paid player at the south coast club, and it's something they do not want to agree to.

A failed Southampton move could give Celtic the upper hand in the race to sign Williams this summer as the Scottish outfit have expressed their desire to take him on loan as well this summer. However, they would also be willing to negotiate with United if the terms can be changed if any deal will happen.
