Celtic’s caretaker manager Neil Lennon has admitted that he is excited with the club’s prospect of securing a treble this season. The Hoops have won each of the previous domestic titles at their disposal and they are on course to secure the Scottish Premiership with an 11-point advantage over Rangers with just five games to play.

As such, the Scottish Cup remains the only obstacle between the Hoops and a hat-trick of trebles, and Lennon is amazed with the commitment and dedication showcased from the current crop of players within the squad, he said: “It’s incredible. I can’t even believe we’re sitting here discussing it. I said to the players when we won the treble it was the first time in over 30 years. These guys are on the cusp of three. But we can’t talk the talk about it because they created it with their own play and dedication and mentality It’s phenomenal what they’ve done, absolutely phenomenal I think. The hunger to keep going, I think it’s fantastic.”

“The Glasgow giants are scheduled to face Aberdeen in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup this weekend with Hearts“ and Inverness facing each other in the other game. Based on the season progress, Derek McInnes’ side are surely the strongest opponents for Celtic at the current point of the competition, and it remains to be seen whether the Hoops’ fantastic “run can be brought“ to an abrupt end.

Meanwhile, Celtic are yet to decide on a new manager but reports indicate that they may not stick with Lennon beyond the end of the season. Lennon has sorted the team out after the mid-season departure of Brendan Rodgers but the board are keen on pursuing an experienced high-profile manager, who can help the club make progress in Europe over the next few years.
