Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has insisted that he is enjoying the best job in the world and has no plans of leaving the Hoops in the near future. The Northern Irishman added that he has plans of returning to the Premier League at some stage of his career but he won’t be replacing Arsene Wenger at Arsenal this summer.

Speaking to reporters, he said: “I woke up here on Monday morning as the manager of Celtic. Believe it or not the sky is blue here in Glasgow and I’m in the best job in the world. I absolutely love it. I’ve got huge respect for Arsenal as a club. When I started my coaching career, Arsene was just coming into the club and I learned so much in that period as a young coach. I would love to work in the Premier League again one day but I’m hopefully going to be coaching for another 20-odd years. So it’s no time soon.”

It had earlier been suggested that Rodgers could consider walking out from the Hoops after failing to make a mark with the club in Europe. However, as things stand, the former Liverpool boss is planning the exact opposite with the Glasgow giants and the club have already begun their search for possible reinforcements for next term.

Rodgers is the second manager after Patrick Vieira to distance himself from the Arsenal role but there is unluckily to hamper the Gunners’ plans with a number of head coaches shortlisted. Among those, Luis Enrique has emerged as a leading candidate of late but their chances of signing the Spaniard are dependent on a couple of conditions being fulfilled. According to The Sun, the 47-year-old is said to demand a hefty £200m transfer kitty in addition to a £25m salary package for himself.
