CELTIC PRODIGY – KARAMOKO DEMBELE
Celtic seem to have found a future superstar in 13-year old Karamoko Dembele.
The youngster came off the bench to get his debut in a Celtic Under 20 game, and there’s been so much fuss about the player ever since. Celtic already have a fan favourite in Moussa Dembele. Dembele is attracting interests from top clubs due to his amazing talent. He has 12 goals already for the Scottish super weight since his move from Fulham. Many believe Karamoko is as talented, hence the craze.
The 13-year old youngster is competing with players seven years above him. His age group thrashed Hearts 3-1 on Monday, and the club’s official website reported after the game that “the diminutive playmaker didn’t look out of place.” Dembele came on in the final eight minutes after showing that he deserved a place in the squad whilst in training.
Dembele – son of Ivory Coast internationals – combined his football career with school at Saint Ninians High School in Kirkintilloch. At the St Kevin Boys Academy Cup in Dublin, the young player drove through the defence of kids from Deportivo La Coruna, Lyon, Barcelona and West Brom. He was in action for Celtic’s Under 15 this summer. However, his outstanding performance ensured he received the Player of the Tournament award. He won the same award in the Under 13 category when he lifted the Bassevelde International Cup.
Since August, the video footages of the youngster’s skills and goals have gone viral. Coaching website KeepItOntheDeck have this to say about the young players:
“Explosive winger with incredible power and pace for one so young but he can spark attacks from teh centre of the midfield as well as cutting in from the wing. None of the Barca lads could get near him. He was just too quick and skilful. Barcelona coaches took note of him.”
