Celtic Begin tour Of Austria
The Celtic FC squad has made its way to Austria to play a few friendly matches. They will be taking on some very good teams on that tour which is good for them from preparation point of view.
The Celts have a different coaching staff for the upcoming season. A couple of new guys i.e. Ronny Deila and John Collins have been appointed on the posts of manager and assistant manager respectively. So, the fans are a bit excited about how the team starts the season.
The first big assignment for the Celts this summer would be the qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League. They will be facing strong competition there and they will have to play really well to make sure that they get into the main draw.
According to Collins, the new assistant, the team is not taking the pre-season matches lightly at all. These are important games in which almost all the guys would get the chance to showcase their talent and convince the management that they deserve a regular playing time in the main season.
Talking to the reporters after reaching Austria, Collins said, “The Celtic squad is actually pretty big. There are a lot of guys in there and they all would be given the opportunity at some point of time on this tour. We are looking to shape our squad for the European Cup qualifiers which are not too far away.”
“There will be intense training sessions and in between them, there will be matches. So, the guys will have to do some hard work over here and all of them are up for it.”
The last season was quite fruitful for Celtic. They had become champions in the Scottish Premiership. They had secured 99 points out of their 38 games.
